Defining your Goals & Dreams
The new year is well and truly underway! How are you going with those New Year's resolutions that you made? Did you know that studies suggest 94% of people fail their new years resolutions just two weeks after setting them. Are you someone that may fall within that 94%?
A lot of our goals that we set at the start of the year are purely 'in the moment.' We're with a group of friends and we start rambling about how we want to 'get fit' or 'give up smoking.' We go out, purchase that gym membership, use it for 2 weeks, and the hide it behind one of our many discount cards in our wallets, never to be used again.
What these goals are lacking is passion. Before you even start making a list of what goals you wish to achieve for the new year, you need to get your head around your goals being motivational. What will actually pump you up, set yourself apart and make you shine?
Now ask yourself- 'why?' Why are these goals important to you? This is something that many people struggle with. Say your goal is to exercise more this year. Why? Is it because it makes you feel happier? Gives you more energy? Making sure you define your why is really important and is something that many of us just overlook. Knowing why these goals are important gives us that passion that drives us and motivation to keep going.
